Well this is my obligatory first post explaining who I am and what in the hell this blog is about.
Short description: Name Beth, Female, Rapunzel length hair, The size of a toothpick, short, College Transfer student in IL, Grades of A's and B's, Homeschooled for 11 out of 12 years of school not truly including college, Born in the South, raised by Midwest parents, Stage Manager and Theater Nerd, Love kids and animals (right now I just borrow them), Knitter, Weirdo (in a good way), still a 5 year at heart but almost 21 in the real world, Sometimes accidentally act like somebody's mom, slightly dyslexic and ADD, good at fixing random stuff and working hard, a book addict, a Doctor Who addict, and addicted to other nerd-like sources of entertainment.
Longer description:
I am a College Student majoring in Theater with a focus in Stage Management. This means that I am supposed to know everything that goes on in the department. What is sad is if I don't know what is going on all I have to do is ask one of the other SM majors and we pieces everything together. To put this feat in perspective there are 12ish Stage Managers (I can't count, shut up) and at least 100 people in the theater dept. we keep track of all of them in one way or another.
I am also a College Snob. No I don't think my university is better than yours I really don't care about that. I care about the actual learning. I think that college (and life) should be about learning not partying and procrastination. I blame it on the fact that I was homeschooled and think that learning is fun.
I have worked in theater since I was was 9 and I love it and want to make a career of it as a stage manager. I don't care about making money I just want to make enough to live on. It gives me happiness.
The reason for this blog is I recently realized that I am actually an adult and it scares the crap out of me.
I sometime just feel the need to rant about my life and the weird happenings and observations. I doubt anyone will read this, but it makes me happy and just in case people do read it I will keep my post 99% not bitching about people I hate. If I do need to bitch about people it will be SUPER vague cause in my career that would quickly get me fired
